Here be lampshades

Ah, the simple glory of the lampshade. An unobtrusive object that quietly did its light diffusing job with nary a whimper or a complaint, until good old TVtropes.com carried it from the dust of obscurity into the hallowed halls of comedy. Why do I sometimes do this show with a lampshade on my head? Is it to sound like Darth Vader? Am I just bleeping crazy? ….Well probably. But moreover, I do it to bring myself in touch with the very essence of satire, by lampshading myself. Something that I do with wild abandon every week, physical lampshade or not. But now, after providing us a show’s worth of hilarity ensuing, which really was more to the credit of our comedian guest than myself (no wonder he’s managed to keep a gag a day strip going all these years and make a living off it), it is time for my dear lampshade to exit stage left before the joke gets worn. Adieu old friend, until next we meet.
