Greetings once again loyal listeners and welcome to your weekly vertical slice of gaming goodness and geek culture. Bit of a programming update, provided everything goes smoothly we shall be moving Fragments of Silicon to its new night and time of Thursdays ant 10:00 PM EDT/7:00 PM PDT. It hard to say how lasting this move will be and indeed this will be effecting staff in the interim, more details on the broadcast itself.  Anyway, this week we are changing things up as usually this show is about the here and now or the future, the guests spotlighted have games that are either recently completed or far into production. Indeed, our guest, a legend of the industry Paul Neurath is currently starting up production on a reboot to the famed Ultima Underworld series entitled Underworld Ascension. However since that game is just starting production, we are going to focus on Paul’s extensive history, which includes working at the likes of Looking Glass Studios, Floodgate Entertainment and Zynga Boston.  Our topic of discussion this week is going to be an overview and examination of the evolution of the First Person Shooter genre over the course of the decades. As always be sure to tune into the program live on Talkshoe this Wednesday at 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST or if you miss the show be sure to download from Talkshoe or iTunes.
