Greetings once more loyal listeners, this week on the first part of the sojourn that is Fragments of Silicon, we welcome to the program a bit of a hybrid developer, that is to say a indie dev that works on his own project and helps out with external games as well, one Xalavier Nelson Jr. of Strange Scaffold. On the one side he has worked on the narrative of such indie stalwarts as Hypnospace Cowboy, Skatebird and more and on the side of things has produced his own efforts such as the recently released An Airport Currently Run By Dogs and the upcoming Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator and El Paso, Elseware. Indeed all very strange and quirky titles as befitting the scene and the creator. On the Topic of Discussion this week we focus in on the legacy of 3D Realms, probably most well known for crafting Duke Nukem 3D and producing Max Payne and Prey but also created more cult classic affairs like Terminal Velocity and Rise of the Triad and was the publisher on early id titles like Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D. As always be sure to tune into all of the fun and adventure this Wednesday at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT and also be sure to check out the new Starship Moonhawk Kickstarter for “The Death of Perseus”, “Survivor: Based on ‘Starship Moonhawk™'”, and “The Mercadian Affair” Animated Features as well.
